Mendocino Food & Wine, the source of ingredients matter...

Every ingredient is grown by someone I know and the produce was harvested earlier in the morning right around the corner from the farmers' market.  I know the meat rancher and the cheese maker and the people who work for them honing the craft.  Flavors are heartier and the nutrients are most dense, the fresher the produce. Everything tastes better so, you use less salt & sweet in everyday cooking just because the ingredients offer more complex flavors. Local olive oil was pressed and stored by it's artisan producer, the goat milk for my fresh ice cream is from a goat who's name I know....I love the country and the dedication of our rural farmers and ranchers who offer the finest ingredients so close to home. I'm grateful for the flavors of Mendocino in AV's seasonal harvests of plenty. By Valerie Adair www.culinaryorigins.com
